DRA joined ACS group in 2002, after which ACS decided to diversify its activities. It has done so by making important investments with in the energy sector and within infrastructure development. Despite this building and civil construction remain part of ACS’s core activities, with DRA as the centre. DRA is one of the most important contractors worldwide and owns specialist companies in several construction related fields: DRACE (waste water treatment plant and waste treatment plants),FPS (civil works for harbours, bridges and special structures), SEIS (modular building, pre-cast elements, etc), GEOCISA (special foundations and structural pathologies) and others. ACS group had a turnover of more than €7000 million in 2007. These figures reflect a 5 year continued growth of around 13%. DRA have app. 50000 employees, whereof app. 200 are involved with R&D development.
