Description of work
Digital fabrication is able to process large amounts of data. In order to make use of this potential at the design stage, a software based design system will be developed that is directly linked to the logic of the fabrication process. Thus, the design will incorporate all parameters of the fabrication process. This leads to a more efficient interface between architects and contractors and an optimisation of the construction process. The results from this WP will enable the application of digital fabrication techniques in architecture, which lie beyond the specific project goals. The architectural design system is developed in parallel to the digital fabrication techniques and aligned to the aesthetic and architectural specification set in WP1 and WP2.
